Home root How to Enable Root in Lineage OS using Super SU and How to Unroot LineageOS

    Today in this guide we will show you how to enable root access in Lineage OS rom based on android M 7.0  without computer or PC.If you are facing problem in Root checker that is it is showing that Sorry! your Device not Rooted properly on Lineage OS 7.0 .
    Then you can follow below simple steps to enable supersu and get root access on Lineage OS roms.You don’t need to flash supersu.zip on cm14.1.This is the latest Cm14.1 rom based on latest android os.You can root android Lineage OS easily without PC.

    Lineage OS rom comes with inbuilt root access setting in developer option you just have to enable it for adb and apps and that is very simple to do.for enabling root or to root Lineage os follow below steps.

    How to Enable Root Access In Lineage OS 14.1

    1.Download  Super su.zip and place it in your device memory.

    2.Then reboot your device into recovery mode.
    3.Tap on “Install” in recovery mode and the select Super su v2.68.zip from your memory where you pasted it in 1st step.
    4.Now After selecting the .zip file do “Swipe to confirm flash” at the bottom of the screen.
    5.Once Flashed the Super su vxxx.x.zip files reboot your device. Done!

    How to UnRoot Lineage OS 14.1

    1.Download  Su removal.zip and place it in your device memory.
    2.Then reboot your device into recovery mode.
    3.Tap on “Install” in recovery mode and the select Super su v2.68.zip from your memory where you pasted it in 1st step.
    4.Now After selecting the .zip file do “Swipe to confirm flash” at the bottom of the screen.
    5.Once Flashed the Super su Su removal.zip files reboot your device. Done!

      Hi There,

      I've installed the rom from this link http://www.lineageosrom.com/2017/01/download-lineage-os-moto-e2-2015.html
      When i opened the dev options there the root access option is not there at all. Only the manage root access option is there which is also disabled. Maybe this is a bug. Please have a look into it.

      Hola, instale la ROM del 08-01-2017 pero la opción de root está deshabilitado (gris claro) alguna forma...
      Solo era para reportar ese inconveniente

      I have update Cynogenmod 14.1 with Lineage os, just copying zip file into cmupdate folder..its updated successfully :)

      I download your rom (LineageOS 7.1.1 for samsung galaxy s4 LTE i9505) and i don,t understand how to root because i turn on the developer option but from the menu (Root access option) it comes out not apps and ADB but only ADB.

        FIRST you have to flash TWRP (you need a PC/Windows,the USB-drivers for your device and a programm to flash your device (e.g. ODIN for Samsung).

        When done, you can boot your device into TWRP and flash anything from there.

        It's not possible, to flash TWRP directly from your device!

        P.S: Please excuse my worse english, i'm German. I hope, you understand anyway. :-/

      i've tried anything to get this root access, i've wipe the data 5 times for trying, first one i try, i cant see option for apps and apps and ADB, just ADB, then i flashing supersuaddson-14.1-x86.zip using TWRP, it said SUCCES, then i reboot, and see on my developer options, there are apps only and apps and ADB, when i select both apps only and ADB, there is a notifications and i just accept it, but when i tried to using root checker, there is no notifications, no pop up for asking grant permission of superuser, and root checker said there is something wrong with binary, then i tried installed super SU from google play, still, i cant see that POP up asking grant permission, i tried to remove it again with flashing supersu-remove-14.1-x86.zip and it saiys succes, but still i cant see pop up or anything, i tried another method with flashing MAGISKv13.3.zip too, but its failed and error with "unable to repack boot.img", i tried anything, wipes and others way to find out the problems, someone can help me ?

      Worked like a charm on my Galaxy S4 with Nougat 7.1.2 using Optimized-LineageOS-14.1-20170816-jflte.zip as ROM file and TWRP as recovery. I tried KingsRoot first without success but this method worked for me.

      After doing the procedure. In the TWRP it says success, all the 4 options are there when i click it (disable/app/app and adb etc). But I tried accessing my root explorer it says root not found. Can you please help me. I'm using zenfone 2 ZE551ML Lineage OS 14.1
